Atrial ventricular diverticulum: sonographic diagnosis.

چکیده
Diverticulum of the lateral ventricle is an uncommon occurrence in patients with hydrocephalus [1-5]. Confusing this entity with similar-appearing abnormalities such as arachnoid cysts , cystic neoplasms, or the trapped fourth ventricle must be avoided to ensure proper mangement [6-8]. Although the pathologic and CT features have been described [1] , the sonographic appearance is not widely known. Given the role that cranial sonography has assumed in evaluating the neonatal brain , it is essential that sonographers recognize this unusual entity. We report two cases of lateral ventricular diverticulum diagnosed with sonography, one with CT correlation.

Inferior wall diverticulum of left ventricle coexisting with mental retardation and atrial septal defect.
We report a case of congenital inferior wall left ventricular diverticulum (LVD), atrial septal defect and mental retardation detected by intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. The combination of three features strongly suggests that genetic factors play important role in the pathogenesis of the disorder. Most LVDs are asymptomatic. Echocardiographers and cardiac anesthesiologists sho...
متن کاملDiagnosis of caliceal diverticulum in two pediatric patients: a comparison of sonography, CT, and urography.
Caliceal diverticulum is a rare disorder in which a urine-filled cavity is connected to the renal calix by a narrow isthmus. Treatment of caliceal diverticulum varies depending on the complications, which include recurrent kidney infections, hematuria, and symptomatic calculi. The use of sonography may be insufficient for accurately diagnosing this condition; contrast urography, CT, or both als...

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the high-resolution sonographic features of diverticulosis, diverticulitis, and their complications. METHODS During a period of about 4 years 8 months, there were 25 patients with sonographic features of diverticulosis, uncomplicated diverticulitis, and complicated diverticulitis. The clinical symptoms, sonographic features, follow-up invest...
متن کاملSupraventricular tachycardia and atrial flutter associated with a coronary sinus diverticulum: A case report
The case of a patient with narrow QRS-complex supraventricular tachycardia and atrial flutter is described. The 12-lead surface electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed sinus rhythm with ventricular pre-excitation and negative δ waves in leads II, III and aVF, indicating Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome with a posteroseptal accessory pathway (AP). Coronary sinus angiography revealed the presence of a div...
متن کاملRadiofrequency ablation of a posteroseptal accessory pathway associated with two diverticula of the coronary sinus.
An electrophysiological study was performed on a 39-year-old woman with recurrent palpitations. She initially presented in 1985 with atrial fibrillation, ventricular preexcitation, and a rapid ventricular response. At that time, she underwent open heart surgery, and mapping demonstrated multiple posteroseptal and left free wall accessory pathways. Accessory pathway conduction was abolished surg...
